As many of you should be aware by now, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. In ironic timing, our beloved host Giuliana Rancic, of our absolute favvv E! News, was diagnosed with the early stages of breast cancer. Now, one week after her lumpectomy, it still seems that this whirlwind was simply a bad dream. Cancer can happen to anyone at anytime, never forget the importance of being screened.
For those loyal to the Rancic dream team, we are well aware that Giuliana and her husband Bill have been desperately trying to become pregnant through In Vitro Fertilization (IVF). After what seems like a dozen seasons of their show Giuliana and Bill, on the Style network, we have been just as desperately holding our breath in hopes of a baby Rancic. This past month, during the beginning of Giuliana's third attempt with IVF, is when the cancerous lumps were discovered. Giuliana recently said, "I still want this baby... Because this baby saved my life." Not everyone is as lucky, or has such a positive outlook, on such a terrible situation and disease.
As November inches closer, we should not forget the awareness that has been placed on breast cancer in these past couple of weeks. Let our glamor warrior Giuliana be a reminder and a talisman to all the thousands of women who are living and fighting breast cancer day by day, hour by hour, minute by minute.
